Poor puppy! didn't you have a snuggle pack to carry him in? Love the shot, nice angle. My dog always moves too much for a good clear shot. Maybe I need to tucker her out more.....
OK, seriously, it took Carol to flat out tell me who you were... I'm so dumb sometimes
Seriously though, a snuggle pack for a dog? I think the removal of his testicles were emasculation enough. Additionally, Teapot is way too steep for it to be safe to carry a dog like that. Honestly, it was too steep to carry loose photo gear, and it's all covered in slippery fungus all the way up. Fortunately we only had one serious wipe out...
Regarding the dog, I'm standing about 4' below him for this picture, and it's picture #2 of about 7 that I took while he was tired. Taking pictures of puppies is like taking pictures of kids. There is a definite process to use. Generally having him sit and stay, then snapping my fingers where I want him looking suffices, but it often takes multiple shots even with that process to get a good'er.
Strongly recommend using RAW format to boot if your camera will support it natively. Makes all the difference in shooting. It has changed my photography as much as being able to change lenses has.
